I’m a fully qualified and accredited Cranio-Sacral Therapist based in Kingston- Upon Thames, London. My area of speciality is working with the nervous system and related conditions such as anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, insomnia, long-COVID and emotional regulation and behavioural disorders such as ADHD & ADD.
I’m registered with regulatory body The Cranio-Sacral Therapy Association (CSTA). I achieved my diploma at The College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London, recognised as Europe’s leading centre of excellence with Thomas Attlee. My two-year training covered biodynamics, anatomy based biomechanics, fascial unwinding and mindfulness training. I am also a member of the PR team for the CSTA, helping to raise awareness of Cranio-Sacral Therapy. I’m also a Usui Reiki practitioner, having qualified at The Reiki Academy and often combine both therapies during my treatment sessions.
I discovered Cranio-Sacral therapy by accident on a yoga retreat in Spain, when a therapist offered it to me as an alternative to a massage. What happened during that first session I can only describe as feeling completely magical. My whole body felt weightless and I left the session feeling more relaxed and at peace than I had done for years.
The next morning I woke up and realised I had been comfortably sleeping on my left shoulder, which hadn’t been previously possible due to an old rotator cuff injury. I was astonished at how such a gentle therapy could have such profound results and that was the beginning of my Cranio-Sacral healing journey, which soon led me into training for two years to become a fully qualified Cranio-Sacral Therapist.
I previously had a successful career working as a publicist in the music industry for over 15 years and was lucky enough to work and tour the world with some very high profile bands and celebrities. After leaving university, I landed a job at a major record label where I lived and breathed my job, which entailed lots of evenings and weekend socialising on top of long office hours. I now bring all of this understanding of such a high-pressured work performance lifestyle to my ongoing work as a therapist.
In my late twenties my whole world fell apart when my younger sister lost her life in a car crash. My family didn’t cope so well either, particularly my mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years later, a battle she bravely fought for several years before finally losing her life 10 years after my sister. Amongst of all of this sadness and loss, I continued on with my PR career, got married and had a daughter but then subsequently went through a divorce when she was 3 years old. During this period my physical and mental health understandably suffered but I soldiered on. I was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome due to experiencing frequent viral infections, fatigue, severe anxiety, back & shoulder pain and panic attacks.
Cranio-Sacral therapy has changed my life, I’m no longer in a constant state of anxiety, my panic attacks have gone and my health is stronger than it’s ever been. I love being able to offer this therapy to my clients and enjoy witnessing the often surprised and delighted reactions of people who have never experienced it before. Especially my teenage daughter who invites her friends over for a session if they are suffering from anxiety.
